Local youth convened at 3300 Harden Dr NW for GEI Career Day, a dynamic event organized under the Partnership for Southern Equity’s Just Opportunity Portfolio. With a mission to bridge young talent into the clean energy workforce, the event spotlighted careers in climate justice, renewable energy, and economic advancement. Participants took part in hands-on workshops and panel discussions led by sustainability professionals, entrepreneurs, and advocates for an inclusive green economy. The atmosphere was both educational and empowering, with discussions centered on workforce development, innovation, and community transformation.

Students take a moment to connect during GEI Career Day. The event created a space for young participants to explore green careers and community leadership through interactive workshops and peer engagement. Among those present were contributors and champions from the solar equity movement, including Ms. Dana Clare Redden, CEO of Solar Stewards. A longtime advocate for energy justice, Ms. Redden’s leadership has helped define models like the Social REC® to ensure frontline communities benefit from clean energy development.

GEI Career Day serves as a powerful reminder of the need to nurture diverse leadership in the sustainability space—starting with the next generation.
